		HOW BEST TO STORE: Store in a paper bag or tea towel to last longest. You can also freeze our loaves (but never refrigerate!). ..................................................... CRUST TRIVIA: While invading Germany, Napoleon was brought dark German rye bread. He wouldn't eat it and said instead: "C'est pain pour Nicole!"... it was for his horse, Nicole. "Pain pour Nicole" over time became Pumpernickel.
To make truly ‘good’ bread you really only need flour, water, salt and yeast. You don’t need preservatives and additives so we don’t use them. Call us old-fashioned but we prefer to use only fresh, natural, healthy ingredients. Each of our unique breads is handmade to its own special recipe, whether it's our Potato & Rosemary Sourdough (with individually plucked sprigs of rosemary) or a truly healthy Spelt and Sunflower tin (the seeds are all applied by hand) - its all made fresh every day. At GAIL's we love our bread. We eat, sleep, breathe, dream, bake and sell bread.
PASTRIES

		BUTTER UP: Our pastries are delicately flakey and soft, made with rich, delicious butter from only specially selected French creams.
We all know that the best way to start the day is with a wholesome breakfast. Freshly baked in each of our stores (you can tell by the delicious aroma early in the mornings!) are our range of mouth watering morning pastries; all made with zero preservatives, colours or additives (so you know exactly what you’re getting). They will not only fill you up and give you energy to last throughout the morning but are incredibly tasty too. Who said breakfast needed to be boring? Definitely not us. Try an almond croissant or one of our absolutely more-ish chocolate halva buns.

If you’ve got time, stop by one of our stores, sit down, relax and start the day with an amazing, freshly-made GAIL’s breakfast. Choose from the healthy GAIL's Granola served with organic yoghurt; seasonal fresh fruit salad; the very tempting homemade buttermilk hotcakes served with maple roasted pears, toasted pecans & organic Greek yoghurt; the traditional option of an English muffin served with fried eggs, grilled tomato and bacon or the chic GAIL's brioche French toast served with vanilla & citrus ricotta and poached rhubarb.  Whatever you decide, you can be sure that a GAIL's breakfast will truly be the best meal of the day.

		GAIL's HUMMOUS:  We use only rich, plump (7.5mm) chickpeas sourced from fertile Turkish soil in our GAIL's hummous - delish.
The perfect accompaniment to any of our loaves is the GAIL’s range of dips. Freshly made from only natural ingredients, GAIL’s dips make the perfect starter to any dinner party or can be the meal in itself. Grab a loaf and a freshly made GAIL’s dip from our fridges for something light and ready to go.
COFFEE & TEA

		Want a REAL Hot Chocolate? Ours is made with 70% cocoa chocolate ganache, (not chalky, artificial powder) and we add milk, not water, which makes it decadently thick and rich! ..................................................... CHILLED SIPS & SLURPS: We squeeze our own juices on-site and also offer an array of organic and British produced drinks in our fridges.
We searched high and low for the perfect coffee beans to work with our state of the art La Marzocco coffee machines and landed upon Union coffee. This smooth blend, combined with Barista training has made GAIL's somewhat famous for a morning cup. We don't like to overly 'boil' our brews, so if you like yours extra hot, just ask and we'll be happy to oblige. In addition to our Union offering, we stock a bountiful range of sublime hand-picked Tea Palace teas.
LARDER

		IN A JAM? Our jams are all organic, natural and so incredible you'll just want to take spoonfuls right from the jar. Try our range including Apricot & Lavender Leaf, Cherry or Redcurrant & Rose Petal.
We stock a range of artisan products that will ensure any larder is smply bursting with flavour and taste all year round. From Guerande salt, balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and a sublime array of jams and conserves, we have all the ingredients to make up the perfect larder hamper for someone special or to simply take home and stock up for a rainy day.
