Sometimes an award comes around that you just know you should win…and this was one of them. The Bread Factory team has worked extremely hard over the past few years to create what the six judges called a ‘special place’ where the marriage between truly artisan bakers and a ‘bunch of men and women who love bread’ has been tried and works. Those of us who can not bake have made it our mission to give seriously great bread a serious voice. We believe that fantastic bread is the centre of what we do and we know that without the best bread on the planet, we are nothing. |

We also know, however, that just getting great bread out of the oven is not enough. Our customers want good service, a strong IT backbone, a dependable ordering and delivery service and world class food safety and facilities. We think that craft baking does not just stop at our doors – it must get to the final customer…and it is this final customer that needs to say WOW. We are trying to make sure that our customers get the best bread and also the best service – and we know that both count. | ||||

We are happy to see that so many people are willing to pay a little extra for an outstanding handmade loaf that you can normally only get in top restaurants and hotels. We call it our GAIL's range because you can find the same loaves in our shops. |

This business was started in the early 1990s, but like many craft businesses it was struggling with the demands of tighter food safety and HS&E regulations and needed some help to raise the commercial aspect to the same high level as its world-class bakers and products. A few of us got together, decided to turn this business into something special instead of letting it languish with sub-standard service levels and poor business practices. It worked and we got noticed by the people at the London Chamber of Commerce who don’t usually pay attention to craft bakers. It was a great award for all of us because it was the first time we were singled out for doing something different. |
